Dodanduwa is a small fishing village with a pristine, serene and broad beach located between Hikkaduwa and Galle of south western coast of Sri Lanka. The beautiful beach studded with gigantic boulder rocks that jut out onto the sea, the birdlife of the verdant islands of Dodanduwa Lake are main draws of the village of Dodanduwa. In one of the islands in the middle of the scenic Ratgama Lake on the northern edge of the village of Dodanduwa is a monastery, home to a Buddhist monastic community.
